SIG-Sauer P230

The pistol (currently identified as a Walther TPH used by (Russell Crowe) during the house shootout looks closer to a SIG-Sauer compact, possibly a SIG-Sauer P230. The P232 would be an anachronism, but the P230 would be period-appropriate as it began production 2 years after the year of the film (1977). --Caldwellb734 (talk) 16:08, 1 September 2016 (EDT)

Jackson Healy (Russell Crowe) fires the pistol. Note the smooth, sloping contours of the trigger guard and rear of the slide, both of which look more akin to a SIG-Sauer than the currently-listed Walther.

S&W auto

It's actually a hi-cap Smith & Wesson 59, note the frame bulge which shows this as a double-stack mag gun. Said frame bulge is biased toward the rear which makes it an earlier 59, rather than a 2nd gen 459/559. It also has the fixed sights, while second-gen S&W autos more often had the large adjustable sights. For the record, a 59 would also be more period-accurate than the second gen guns, which didn't come out 'til the 80s. StanTheMan (talk) 02:27, 19 November 2016 (EST)
