Andre Braugher
Andre Braugher (1962-2023) was an American actor who appeared in such feature films as Glory , Frequency and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, in addition to his portrayal of Detective Frank Pembleton in the NBC series Homicide: Life on the Street, a role for which he was the recipient of the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series in 1998. He appeared as well in the television series Last Resort and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and most recently as NYPD Captain Ray Holt in the NBC/FOX comedy Brooklyn Nine-Nine, for which he was nominated four times for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series. He passed away from lung cancer in December of 2023 at the age of 61,
