Adding gun pics

When adding gun pictures to pages, please make sure you put "thumb|none|300px]]" after the filename.

The final code should look like this : [[Image:Browning_HP_West_German_Police.jpg‎|thumb|none|300px]] --Ben41 14:28, 29 October 2011 (CDT)

Alcatraz

I noticed you started the page for Alcatraz. Are you planning to upload screenshots as well?? --Zackmann08 15:31, 8 February 2012 (CST)

If I can find some, yes. Otherwise it is a free page to edit.--Coltmth 14:50, 9 February 2012 (CST)

Thanks for adding screenshots to Alcatraz. In the future, it's best to rename your screenshots with the show title, season number and episode number at the front. Example: If a screenshot is from Season 1 Episode 8, you would rename it "Alcatraz S1E08". This will prevent your shots from mistakenly being overwritten and will help keep track of what episode the particular screenshot is from. --Ben41 (talk) 15:40, 28 May 2013 (EDT)

G.I. Joe

The release date on the page was changed the day the news came out. If the poster bothered you, then you could've just uploaded another poster. Putting in subheadings that the release date was moved was not necessary. --Funkychinaman 12:39, 26 May 2012 (CDT)

Dark Knight Rises

Are you using VLC player to screencap the Dark Knight Rises? I was planning to screencap from the Blu-ray, and I find that VLC provides sharper screenshots. Also, the movie doesn't come out until Tuesday, Dec. 4. --Ben41 (talk) 18:55, 3 December 2012 (EST)

Got that off of YouTube

007: Legends

I don't suppose you'd be interested in cropping the black out of the screen caps and reuploading them? The person who uploaded them is being an a-hole about following the rules. --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:18, 14 December 2012 (EST)

Skyfall

TWO admins have now undone your changes to the Skyfall page. Do you have a good reason for deleting those images? --Funkychinaman (talk) 01:01, 29 January 2013 (EST)

You now have a week to come up with a good explanation. --Funkychinaman (talk) 21:57, 3 February 2013 (EST)
The reason why I'm keeping that particular promo image of Bond with the Walther is that there is a distinct difference that should be pointed out from the film. As for the other image, I'm putting up a different one to replace it. --Ben41 (talk) 22:01, 26 February 2013 (EST)
If you're going to remove production images, can you at least move them to the talk page? --Funkychinaman (talk) 22:59, 5 March 2013 (EST)

Adding PPK Screenshots

In the future, please reconsider adding any additions to a gun entry that already has numerous screenshots. If you feel the need to add another image, please specify why this screenshot is important, such as a peculiar feature of the weapon or if the weapon happens to be different in some way from the other screenshots. Otherwise, the right is reserved to remove any superfluous screenshots. --Ben41 (talk) 19:59, 3 June 2013 (EDT)

Please, no more screenshots of the PPK in Skyfall. Any more put up for the film will be deleted. In the future, I would suggest using VLC as your screenshots appear to be a bit blurry. --Ben41 (talk) 15:49, 22 August 2013 (EDT)

RE:Sig-Sauer P229 on The Blacklist

Compare the slide serrations. On the Blacklist gun they only go halfway up the slide, whereas on the NCIS one they are full height. Compare the serrations to the guns pictured below and you will see the difference:

Error creating thumbnail: File missing
SIG-Sauer P229R - 9x19mm
Error creating thumbnail: File missing
SIG-Sauer P229 E2 - 9x19mm

Also note how on the Blacklist pistol the step on the slide is the full length rather than just going back to the rear of the ejection port like on the E2 (this isn't particularly clear from this angle, but look at the very rear of the slide and you can see the step).--commando552 (talk) 18:11, 24 September 2013 (EDT)

Blacklist images

You may want to double check your source for these images you have put on the Blacklist page. They have a wider aspect ration than 16:9 which is the standard for a television show like this, which means either your aspect ratio on your player is set incorrectly, or you are cropping out some of the top/bottom of the frame. --commando552 (talk) 07:41, 26 September 2013 (EDT)

I am doing some cropping because I usually pause it to grab the screenshot which shows the iTunes menu bar.--Coltmth (talk) 08:58, 26 September 2013 (EDT)

Type 59 in Blacklist?

What makes you say that this is a Type 59 rather than a standard Makarov PM? Is there a tell-tale difference of some sort? --commando552 (talk) 20:26, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

No, I just figured given the fact he took it off a Chinese guard. Plus, in a later shot you could see a thug holding it and the grip color was slightly lighter then a PM, meaning that it is a type 59.--Coltmth (talk) 20:33, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

Well it wasn't shot in China so that is meaningless. They wouldn't use a Chinese made version of a gun just because a Chinese guy is holding it, particularly when indistinguishable from the original. Similarly you wouldn't assume that the other guards are using Chinese clones of the Glock 19 and Walther PPK. In general it is the location that the production is shot in rather than the supposed nationality of the character that is the better indicator of a gun's origin. Although you do get Type 59s in the US, they are relatively rarer and more expensive than Russian and other Eastern European manufactured Makarovs, along with being of generally worse build quality, all of which would make it more likely that this is a regular Makarov. As for the grip colour I didn't notice that when I watched it but will upload some more caps of the scene that show the grip to compare (although the Type 59 grips I have seen tend to be a typical Makarov colour and I think it is just our stock image that is light, although I'm not sure about that). --commando552 (talk) 20:55, 8 October 2013 (EDT)

Blacklist filenames

Before uploading your images, please change the filenames to something more applicable to the page. Your filename for the recent image is too long. --Ben41 (talk)

The bolt action is not the trigger.

The Remington 700 action in Red 2 has a straighter, thicker lever than an L96. --Ben41 (talk) 18:38, 22 December 2013 (EST)

The bolt action of the Remington 700 is seen.

Here the rifle's bolt action is different.

24

If you're going to add an entry such as the Steyr M9, please follow the established format on the page by adding a gun image and hyperlinking back to the gun page and properly adding the proper format for the episode title. --Ben41 (talk) 03:19, 4 June 2014 (EDT)

I'm having trouble uploading pictures to use for entries. I am just putting it up there so that the hope is that someone will upload a picture and then it is already in place.--Coltmth (talk) 13:07, 4 June 2014 (EDT)

What kind of trouble are you having? --Funkychinaman (talk) 13:24, 4 June 2014 (EDT)

I keep on getting this reference whenever I try to upload a picture "Could not create directory "mwstore://local-backend/local-public/0/00". --Coltmth (talk) 14:15, 4 June 2014 (EDT)

Sometimes a renaming of the file helps to solve this problem, even simple changing Film-1.jpg to Film-01.jpg. Greg-Z (talk) 14:29, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
It's a weird problem, but Greg is right, just tweak the file name a bit, and it'll upload. --Funkychinaman (talk) 14:33, 4 June 2014 (EDT)

Thanks, that worked. I would like it if someone could help update 24: Live Another Day and the Blacklist Season 1 pages. I have just uploaded a few pictures for the both of them. I'm incredibly busy as is, so it would be helpful if I didn't always have to keep updating the pages.--Coltmth (talk) 14:59, 4 June 2014 (EDT)

Just update the Blacklist when you have time. 24 is being updated. --Ben41 (talk) 17:40, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
If you start a page, you just can't assume anyone else watches it. The page for Alcatraz, for example, is still incomplete, simply because no one else watched it. --Funkychinaman (talk) 18:32, 4 June 2014 (EDT)
