I'm an avid firearms enthusiast, gunsmith and collector. As a gunsmith I focus on mainly restoring firearms as well as fabricating small parts that are otherwise irreplaceable. The 1911 is my greatest area of expertise and my #1 passion. As a collector my interests extend to anything unique and different. I especially love the trend setters of the early 1900s such as Mauser and Fabrique National.
Beyond this I am a huge film buff. Action, action, action. Old westerns are my favorite though. As my tastes have changed over the years I've grown to appreciate the nuance of older movies. My favorite western at the moment would be "The Sons of Katie Elder".
My goal at imfdb is to help provide accurate and concise information to users. Seeing a firearm that you're unfamiliar with and being able to look it up and identify it, is crucial sometimes for our connection to those films. It can absolutely ground a film in reality and help suspend disbelief for those who are more critically minded like myself.
