The Horse Soldiers (1959)

The Horse Soldiers is a 1959 Civil War film directed by John Ford and stars John Wayne as a Union cavalry colonel who leads a raid into Confederate territory in order to destroy a rail line during the time of the conflict. The film co-starred William Holden and Hank Worden.

The following weapons were used in the film The Horse Soldiers:

Remington New Army (mocked up Single Action Army)

Col. John Marlowe (John Wayne) as well as other Union cavalry soldiers are seen using what are supposed to be Remington New Army revolvers. These revolvers appear to be Colt Single Action Army revolvers with a mock cylinder rod to resemble the Civil War era handgun. Similar mockups appear to have been used in John Wayne's 1970 film Rio Lobo.
