Colt M1911A1 Mike Hammer (Mickey Spillane ) carries a Colt M1911A1 , first illegally, then legally. He describes it as a "Colt Automatic, Caliber .45." According to Mickey Spillane , "this awful Spanish gun," most likely a Star Model B , was to stand in for the Colt, but real Colt M1911s were later provided by notorious London gangster Billy Hill.

He ejects all the rounds before giving it back to Grissi.
