I read an interview with Robert Culp, and he said that when he started the show, he had two custom Devel M39 pistols made. One to use in the show, and one for himself. For some reason, the pistol wasn't used in many episodes. David.

I remember in the pilot episode, the militia group were using AR-18s (possibly AR-180s) and Robert Culp's character carried a snub-nosed revolver which he pointed at one of Hinckley's students when the student threatened him with a switch-blade. Wraith

To David: That's really interesting info on the Devel. Here's a little more. I met Mr. Culp at the San Diego Comic-Con, and I tried to ask him about that Devel. He didn't say anything about that one, but he mentioned that two of the guns he used on that show were his own guns. He mentioned a hammerless .38 (used in the pilot - probably a S&W Model 42), and also a Colt .38 automatic. I remember seeing the Colt .38 in the 3rd season. Mike M.

The Colt .38 that Robert Culp used on the 3rd season was a Colt Model 1902 Military Model. It can be clearly seen in Season 3, Episode #4, "The Resurrection of Carlini". He often carried the 1911 and the 1902 in two shoulder holsters toward the back end of the series. That totals 4 handguns that Mr. Culp used on the show. The Colt 1911, the Devel 9mm, the Smith & Wesson Model 42 (used only in the pilot) and the Colt Model 1902.

Interesting. Also note that Robert Culp used a 1902 Sporting Model. He had that and the 1902 Military in shoulder holsters. You can see the Sporting Model in this shot. Note the plunge milled forward serrations:

Here's a shot of the Military Model he had:

I wonder what happened to his gun collection?
