Discussion

Does anyone have a clear picture of the supposed Colt New Service? It looks like it has shrouded ejector rod in the one picture, which would make it a S&W Mk.I Hand Ejector. - Never mind, took a good look at the front sight and it's definately a Smith.

Organizing firearms by type

I'm just organizing some pages. I'm not changing the text or screencaps, but I'm anal and I am grouping the firearms by type. --Jcordell 21:42, 9 May 2010 (UTC)

Thompson used

The Thompson used is a M1928 but you can not tell that difference externally between a M1921AC and M1928AC. Both have compensators as designated by the AC code internally the Actuators and recoil springs were changed to reduce the rate of fire on the 1921 making it a 1928. -phoenixent 21:24, 22 August 2010 (UTC)

Smith & Wesson "Triple Lock"

I've changed the S&W Mk I Hand ejector to a Triple Lock. The story is set in 1931 in Illinois. Though there is a possibility that there would be a .455 Mk I Hand Ejector (with an aftermarket nickle plate) being used it's more plausible that it would simply be a .44 Special Triple Lock. However I decided to err on the cautious side and simply called it a Triple Lock. I'm not going to guess the caliber. See Smith & Wesson 44 Hand Ejector Series for more details. --Jcordell 15:26, 29 October 2010 (UTC)

Spoiler

The Spoilers here are NOT necessary. There is no place where the description of the firearms needs to be linked to a major spoiler on this page. This was one of Speakeasy's earliest page and it is exceptionally well done. But now he is a well experienced MOD hahahaha. I'm changing the 600px full screen pics to 500px until we can get widescreen caps. MoviePropMaster2008 06:41, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

1911

The M1911A1 looks more like an M1911, at least on the second screenshot. - bozitojugg3rn4ut 06:56, 27 August 2011 (CDT)

It's an A1, the rollmarks on the slide is probably what's messing you up. The two stock pics we have of the A1 have the WWII style rollmarks, versus the style seen on the prewar commercial A1's and M1911.--Predator20 09:57, 27 August 2011 (CDT)

Note the relief cuts on the frame and larger tang on the grip safety.

The palm-swell and the shorter trigger are also obvious indications of a A1. - Mr. Wolf 12:03, 27 August 2011 (CDT)

(Possibly) Modified Thompson Foregrip

I've noticed that the wooden vertical foregrip on Sullivan's Thompson appears to be shaved down slightly. Due to the weapon being repeatedly assembled and disassembled throughout the movie, would that somehow provide ease of attachment? Anyone know if the grip was modified for a reason or if it was just worn down or something? --Caldwellb734 (talk) 00:13, 29 December 2015 (EST)

M1921 Thompson - .45 ACP
A promotion still of Sullivan with his Thompson. Note the sharp pointed top end of the foregrip in the first picture, and the flatter rounded-off end of the foregrip on the Thompson in this image.
