Talk:Miami Vice - Season 2

The revolver used by Edward James Olmos in this scene does not look like a Colt Trooper. Rafa

The revolver’s hammer has a peculiar shape, that is quite characteristic of Rohm revolvers. Also, the grip does not seem correct for a Colt Trooper. Check out the pic below:

It's definitely not his Colt Trooper. The barrel is too short. I can't really see the hammer. But it looks more like a S&W Model 19. I didn't cap Season 2. (Only the last few eps) But I'll check it on my DVD and see if there are any other good shots. --Predator20 20:21, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

S&W Model 19

A model 19? maybe but, although I can't see well the revolver, I think that is does not have an enclosed ejector rod, and the sights don't look like the adjustable S&W sights. I still think that the hammer is quite large, and has a shape that I have only seen in some Rohm revolvers, like those pictured above. I hope that you'll be able to find a closer shot of the revolver, because I'm quite intrigued regarding this one. There is something that makes me thing that it might not be a Rohm: in these series, most guns are used in several episodes (the Detonics Scoremaster and the Taurus pistols, for example, are seen many times). Therefore, if a Rohm revolver was available, it would be expected to be used in other episodes, but I don't remember seeing one again. Rafa

I wasn't saying that it's not a Rohm. Just that the Model 19 is more common. There is on occasion that a gun is used once and never seen again. Although rare for the Vice series.--Predator20 20:48, 16 November 2009 (UTC)

Beretta 92F

I would have posted this under Beretta 92 Pistol Series Discussion, but it was locked. Purhaps someone could move this later.

I just wondered if this season of Miami Vice was the first TV/Movie appearance of the Beretta 92F.

I am talking about the exactly 92F model with the squared trigger, nothing like the 92 model.

Something to discuss I suppose since it's an extremly popular movie weapon.

When was it put into production, when it was first issued to law enforcement etc.

Unknown pistol (one of them)

The assassin shoots Constanza with a suppressed pistol in "Out Where the Buses Don't Run".

I believe this unknown pistol is a High Standard HD series pistol. But I don't know which one- it seems to have elements from a few different models. --PyramidHead (talk) 09:06, 8 June 2020 (EDT)
