What about the gun used by the shop owner at the beginning of the movie to shoot Richie? Or the gun carried by Richie?

The store keeper who killed Harry's partner at the beginning used what looked like a Glock 19 and the food stand owner in the park killed one of the henchmen with what looked like a 1911A1. -Anonymous
This page needs a major revamp. The descriptions are pretty crappy (I'm pretty sure "the black guy" has a name...), some guns are misindentified, and the screencaps are low-res and lacking. I wish I owned this movie, I only rented it once. - Gunmaster45
Jesus Christ, I just looked at this page again. It looks like hell! I have this one guys. One of my favorite movies of all time deserves better. I will clean it up tonight when I get home. At the very least the descriptions. If I can't get the screenshots up tonight, I will have them up by the 4th. Thanks.--Spikemonkey 11:49, 30 June 2010 (UTC)
Okay, I got it started, but I will be taking a bit longer to get this one done. I should never promise to get anything done quickly on 4th of July weekend.--Spikemonkey 17:48, 3 July 2010 (UTC)
Getting there bit by bit. I have decided to get this page done right with some hi-def screenshots, the first of which I have ever uploaded. It's a proud day for me. :)--Spikemonkey 15:41, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Hey Dillinger, I wasn't sure of the proper size for hi-def screens; but I think 400px kind of defeats the purpose. I think that 600px is a fair compromise. Do you agree?--Spikemonkey 22:28, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Yes you are right, sorry by don't re-zise the image, i`m also a fan of this movie.--Dillinger 23:36, 5 July 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Dillinger and Jcordell for cleaning up the formatting and adding the categories; I appreciate it! I will have the last few caps and guns done on this one by tonight. I've just been super busy with work. Thanks again guys.--Spikemonkey 14:13, 18 July 2010 (UTC)
All done! Only...8 months late. :/--Spikemonkey 21:28, 15 March 2011 (CDT)

NAA Derringer

Error creating thumbnail: File missing

It looks like an NAA Mini revolver, Most likely a .22 Magnum judging by the size of the cylendar. Gay Perry called his a "faggot gun", but not because he's gay but because it only holds 5 shots and has no stopping power. He kills a guy by firing it through his pants, evidently because he stores it in his crotch or pocket.

EDIT This can't be the same gun, because the "faggot gun" gets thrown into the lake by Harry, we never actually see the gun that Perry keeps in his crotch. One would assume by fire rate that it could not be a NAA arms mini revolver as they are single action only. edit but he pulls it out after he shoots him and shows the little 22 magnum. Maybe he's just really quick.

EDIT But the quote in the movie about the faggot gun says it's a derringer. Could be wrong though.

Derringer is pretty much the term used to describe any tiny little revolver or tip open. Even the company calls them NAA Mini revolver derringers.

EDIT In the movie he states that the gun that was thrown into the lake by Robert Downey Jr. was a Vector.

He could also have several derringers as back-up guns.

- The exchange in the movie is: Scene "Lady in the Lake"

Perry: Where's my gun?

Harry: I got rid of it

Perry: My $2000 ceramic Vektor my mother got me as a special gift. You threw in the lake next to the car. What happens when they drag the lake? You think they'll find my pistol. Jesus! Look up "idiot" in the dictionary. You know what you'll find?

Harry: A picture of me?

Perry: No! The definition of the word idiot, which you fucking are!

--So he didn't throw the revolver in as far as Perry is concerned. Besides there is no way you could use a .22 Magnum to shoot out the trunk lock of a car and have enough power to penetrate the head of the dead girl.

--I'm sorry, I thought this was a movie, in which the average audience sees a gun and thinks "that shoots things," including but not limited to headshots after passing through an aluminum trunk.

It doesn't matter what they say in the movie, it matters what the gun actually is. Also, the Vektor was a fuck up in dialogue, Perry has a Vektor CP-1 that he uses, the derringer isn't neccesarily a Vektor.--Pølaris 20:13, 24 February 2010 (UTC)
This is far too much debate. It's a movie, and one modeled after pulp novels known for screw-ups and logical falsities. The "faggot gun" (called this because it "is only good for a few shots and then you need to drop it for something better," suggesting that is how Perry treats gay relationships) is an NAA mini, only called a derringer because of it's size, though it isn't a traditional "derringer." The average movie audience sees it, hears "derringer," and agrees. We can clearly see what it is, and it's an NAA mini, probably .22 magnum. Despite Downy throwing the NAA in the lake, we know that he was supposed to have thrown the Vektor. It's possible Perry has two, as the one he supposedly threw was more ornate than the one we see later, again, because the dialogue suggests so. The derringer clearly wasn't "thrown away" as far as the film canon goes, because we see it later being used and then removed from Perry's pants. It's a movie. Sometimes things get screwed up. When in doubt, follow the dialogue (the STORY), not the visuals, because only a gun owner notices the visual mistakes here, where as anyone watching the film is following the dialogue. End of story.

EDIT

Perry has two guns, the "derringer" and the vektor. Harry throws the Vektor in the lake, but Perry still has his "derringer".

EDIT

In the car, after Perry calls the derringer a faggot gun, Harry puts the derringer back in the glove box (in front of the passenger seat).

Also the vektor was the one thrown into the lake:

Perry: What were you thinking. My two thousand dollar ceramic vektor my mother got me as a special gift you threw into the lake next to the car...

So the vektor was the gun Harry threw in the lake.

Harry holds the SP-101, while a shocked Gay Perry holds the CP1. Harry: Well what I'm doing for the guy who likes to bluff is I'm playing a little game called "Am I Bluffing?" [Loads one round into the revolver to play Russian roulette] Harry: Where is she? Where the fuck is Harmony? You want to play hardball? I can do that. [Spins the cylinder and points the gun] Harry: Where is the girl? [Shoots the guy in the head] Perry: W-what did you just do? Harry: I just put in one bullet, didn't I? Perry: You put a live round in that gun? Harry: Well yeah, there was like an 8% chance. Perry: Eight? Who taught you math!?

Moved from front page.

This is likely a Taurus PT 58 like they used in Lucky Number Slevin. Could even be the same prop. - Gunmaster45
Sorry, but it is not a Taurus or any kind. I uploaded a new, hi-def, screenshot that clearly shows the slide mounted safety. I respectfully request that no changes be made to this page; at the very least until I am done. You asked for it to be cleaned up, Gunmaster45, and I answered your call. And I would like at least one page to call my own. Thank you.--Spikemonkey 03:05, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
You have proved me wrong, but you're possesiveness of your page is agressive and you come off a rude. I was simply posting a comment as to what I thought the weapon might be to help you correct the page. The poorer quality screencaps made the gun look more compact than it was, so my bad there. But don't be a dick about it, it's uncalled for. - Gunmaster45
Sorry if you think I came off as a dick. I always try to be polite in my requests and questions. But the rule is: "Make sure your changes to a page are correct!. It seems obvious but we spend too much time undoing reckless or just plain wrong informational changes, usually made by anonymous or new members. Don't make or incorrect edits to pages. If you believe information on a page is incorrect but are unsure, comment on it in the "Discussion" section of the page so it can be confirmed. Fight the urge to add your "gut-feeling" insight to a page." I understand that you are huge member of this wiki and I respect the amount of work you have put into contributing to it (your Hot Fuzz page alone is a testament to your level of commitment); however, I have to follow the rules the same as you do. I truely care about keeping this wiki proper, just ask Aliengueen11 about when I helped during the "StikerDelta page vandalism" incident. As for the "possessiveness" all I asked is that no changes be made while I am working on it, a not unreasonable request; one I am sure you would ask for on one of your pages. I can't get it done in a day, as I am 30 and work in HVAC and it's 100 degrees here in southeast VA. I (no sarcasm) hope that this didn't make me come off as a dick; I just try to do the right thing by the standards of this wiki.--Spikemonkey 05:02, 6 July 2010 (UTC)
