Unknowns

Anyone know what this weapon is? --Markit (talk) 18:50, 12 October 2012 (EDT)

Sgt. Wooters holds a pistol.

Looks like a Non Gun PPK to me. When I saw the trailer I don't think the slide moved --Taurus96 (talk) 05:11, 13 October 2012 (EDT).

Title unsure

IMDB has this movie listed as "THE Gangster Squad" but all other media, posters, ads and articles I've seen have it listed merely as "Gangster Squad". We can change it when we have definitive proof one way or another. MoviePropMaster2008 01:59, 12 May 2012 (CDT)

Not sure about the Winchester Model 12

The foregrip is too far forward, but the mag tube end looks just like a Win Model 12. Thoughts? MoviePropMaster2008 02:18, 12 May 2012 (CDT)

Behind the scenes footage

I had originally posted this on the main page discussion section, since for some reason I can't create a thread in the forum. I'll re-post it here:

The upcoming movie Gangster Squad will be released this year, and someone managed to record scenes being filmed, then posted the videos on Youtube. A couple of the videos feature shootouts.

This first one shows the "Gangster Squad" involved in a firefight and has a lot of M1 Thompson action:

Gangster Squad 1

The second video shows what I'm assuming are gangster-types, which is shot too far away to make positive ID's on all the weapons, but I think I know what most of them are. Two of them are using the usual Thompsons, but the guy kneeling between the cars seems to have a Sten, judging by the way he's holding it. There's another guy firing an smg, which due to the way he's holding it and it's rate of fire, I think is either an MP-40 or M-3. It's impossible to tell because he's obscured by a car. I'm pretty sure the guy up in the building is using a Lewis Gun.

    • The guy between the cars has a Sten gun, the magazine's sticking out to the side. And yes, it's a Lewis gun in the building. This movie looks realy cool.--Mandolin 07:58, 24 July 2012 (CDT)

Question

This movie hasn't been released yet, so why is it written like it has been released? I'm just curious. --Quatermain

There's a bunch of guns in the trailer, so why not get some caps now? BeardedHoplite 12:28, 28 May 2012 (CDT)

What I meant was, why doesn't the page say this is an upcoming movie? Quatermain

There. Done. MoviePropMaster2008

Well in my opinion it's better written like it is, because once the said thing comes out articles often don't change it. See MW3, BF3, and especially Operation Flashpoint: Red River for this.Sith Venator 16:43, 28 May 2012 (CDT)

In light of the recent shooting in Aurora it has been revealed that the Theatre scene in this film will either be A)Cut or B)Reshot. Not sure which but they are doing something. Bristow8411 17:21, 24 July 2012 (CDT)

Indeed it looks like it's gonna geet pospones to the 2013 for refilm that scene, since it was important for the plot of the film.--Dillinger 23:03, 24 July 2012 (CDT)

Hudson M3A1

Not that you really get a clear shot, but in the middle some guys have suppressed weapons, and they look like the Hudson M3A1, aka the Silenced Grease Gun made for the OSS, can anyone confirm? [Couldn't get spoiler tag to work, so apologies for vagueness, but its the only bit] --Theocd (talk) 18:29, 11 January 2013 (EST)

Just FYI, I think you're getting the real suppressed M3A1 confused with the model gun version made by the Hudson company. The suppressed barrel was designed by Bell Laboratories and manufactured by High Standard, there was no company with the name Hudson involved. So it would be incorrect to refer to the suppressed version as a "Hudson", unless you're are suggesting the movie employed model gun versions of the weapon in the place of real M3A1s. I haven't seen the movie yet, but when I do it will be interesting to see if suppressed M3s are used.--Phillb36
Cool, the only book I have with a supressed Grease Gun in it calls it the Hudson, I'm no expert on American weaponry so thanks for the heads up. Do look for it, someone's added it to the page so I can't be the only one who saw it. --Theocd (talk) 10:43, 21 January 2013 (EST)
It was me that added it to the page, as I just recently saw the movie and agree M3s were used in the scene you're referring to--Phillb36 (talk) 22:47, 21 January 2013 (EST)

Anthony Mackie's Character

It says on wikipedia that his character is called Detective Coleman Harris but here it say he is called Detective Rocky Washington, which one is the real one?--Dillinger (talk) 02:10, 17 February 2013 (EST)

Micheal Pena is using a Colt Official Police with a 4 inch Barrel. In at least one still, his holstered Colt has a Pachmayr grip adapter, in most scenes it doesn't. Slightly OT, during that time period some of the real Gangster Squad would have been packing 6 inch Colts or S&Ws. Colt 1903 Pocket autos might have used as backups, but not as primary weapons ,but maybe someone knows something I don't...

Wrong gun model

It say that Karl/Holt firing a early Browning Automatic Rifle but the rifle used by Karl at the hotel shoot out and also he used it to shoot office Max Kennard was a World War 2 m1918A2 Browning Automatic Rifle with no carry handle and not a World War 1 version or a early one. I know because my friend own the rifle that was used in Gangster Squad also if you look closely at the picture you can see a magazine guide going over the magazine do you see the guide ? a early Browning Automatic or a World War 1 version do not a have magazine guide i am new here so if someone can change it to the correct model and put up a picture of a m1918A2 Browning Automatic Rife or tell me how i can do it myself that will be great user BigGuy

smith and wesson 36?

I'm not totally sure, but I think that, at the beginning of the movie, Josh Brolin uses a smith and wesson Chief's special. This would be a mistake, as this gun was introduced in 1955, and the movie takes place in 1949Rafa (talk) 17:22, 16 April 2016 (EDT)
