The Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 380 is a compact semiautomatic pistol that is not to be confused with the Smith & Wesson Bodyguard 38. In 2014 Smith & Wesson released an updated "M&P Bodyguard 380" variant which tied it more closely to the company's Smith & Wesson M&P series despite, being a DAO pistol which uses an internal hammer instead of striker fired like the rest of the series.
