Tanegashima

A VERY strange choice for the 17th-century America, a Tanegashima appeared in the hands of the soldier at "The Vow" (S1E01). Possible, the cinematographers mean, that this gun was bought, exchanged or captured from Japanese samurais and bring the Province of Massachusetts Bay. It's also more plausible, that it stands for older 16th century caliver style arquebus as tanegashimas were derived from Portuguese guns.
