Overview

In Renegade X multiplayer, the game pits players in to two teams: Global Defense Initiative (GDI) and the Brotherhood of Nod. All players start as a basic Soldier, and will respawn as one once they have been killed. Both teams have a variety of free characters, such as Engineer, Marksman and Shotgunner, as well as special characters, who can be acquired with in-game credits. Each player has a timed C4 and Silenced Pistol by default. C4 can be replaced with grenades for free, and the Silenced Pistol can be replaced by a free Machine Pistol, or they can use credits to switch to Heavy Pistol or Carbine. Credits can also be used to purchase combat vehicles or special weapon strikes, such as A-10 strike, AC-130 strike or even a nuclear missile.

Both teams have Harvesters, which gather poisonous Tiberium crystals to be processed at the teams' Refinery. Once ready, all players of the team gain in-game credits. Players can also kill enemies and damage or destroy their base structures, or repair their own, to gain credits.

Handguns

Walther P22

Walther P22 appears in three different forms: "Silenced Pistol", "Heavy Pistol", and "Machine Pistol". Silenced Pistol is the default sidearm for all characters, and holds 12 rounds in the magazine, whereas the real P22 only holds 10. Heavy Pistol can be purchased with earned in-game credits as a replacement for the Silenced Pistol, and holds 8 rounds in the magazine. Machine Pistol is a free replacement for the Silenced Pistol, and it features full-auto firing mode and holds 30 rounds. Originally, all variants had Walther markings on the slides and grips, but these were removed later.

Flak Cannon

"Flak Cannon" is used by MacFarland character of GDI. While it's referred to as "Flak Cannon", it behaves like a shotgun. It's primary fire is a frag round, and the secondary is buckshot. The weapon is pumped after every shot and is fed from a 12-round revolving cylinder, as in a revolver, but the whole cylinder is changed when the weapon is reloaded. The handguard is borrowed from SPAS-12.
