Byl jednou jeden dům (English: Once There Was a House) is a 1974 Czech war drama television series, which deservedly become a classic. Tells the stories of the inhabitants of one tenant house in Prague in the period shortly before World War II and during the war, and culminates in the uprising in May 1945. The final part of the series was by a command of regime complemented with scenes that be supporting the thesis of the leading role of the Communists in the anti-Nazi resistance. He was aired under a changed name. After 1989, he began broadcasting again in its original form without additional scenes, however, deprived of some weapons.
