No. 69 High-Explosive Grenade

The No. 69 High-Explosive Grenade was used by the Commonwealth Forces in WW2. The grenade used the "All-ways" impact fuze, meaning that as soon as the grenade hit a surface with sufficient force, it would detonate. It is an "offensive" grenade, which means that it is meant for use without much cover; as such, its body is made of Bakelite, to minimize shrapnel, the grenade's blast doing most of the damage instead. This meant that, while it wasn't terribly effective in open areas, it found its niche in close-in, urban fighting scenarios.
