Mark Twain: Against (Mark Tven protiv...) is a Soviet 1976 made for TV adventure comedy, directed by Mikhail Grigoryev and based on Autobiography of Mark Twain. The story depicts an eposide of Twain's life when he was writing for the Virginia City newspaper in early 1860s.

Revolvers

Nagant M1895 (visually modified)

Most handguns in the movie are Nagant M1895 revolvers, visually modified to resemble Colt revolvers, such as Colt Police Positive or Colt Official Police (of course, revolvers with such outlook are out of time for 1860s).

Mark Twain's revolver has the extended ejector rod, usually a sign of well worn Nagant.

"Ricochet Firing Revolver"

When Mark Twain comes in Aunt Wealler's store to purchase a gun, the old lady suggests a "ricochet firing revolver", a fictional kind of gun that has "a secret flight of the bullet". This gun is a mocked up Nagant, additionally fitted with a muzzle device.

Pepperbox Revolver

In the scene in Aunt Wealler's store Mark Twain (Oleg Tabakov) holds a percussion cap pepperbox revolver. In his stories Twain often mocked such guns: "To aim along the turning barrel and hit the thing aimed at was a feat which was probably never done..."

Martini Action Schuetzen Rifle

Among the guns, examined by Mark Twain in Aunt Wealler's store is a single shot Martini Action Schuetzen rifle, a popular German target and hunting gun. It is fitted with a sniper scope. Like most other guns in the movie, this rifle is out of time.
