M is a 1951 American film noir, a remake of Fritz Lang's cult 1931 thriller. The film is directed by Joseph Losey and stars David Wayne as the maniacal child killer Martin W. Harrow, Martin Gabel as the crime boss Charlie Marshall, and Luther Adler as Marshall's drunkard attorney Dan Langley.

The following weapons were used in the film M:

Revolvers

Colt Detective Special

Colt Detective Special revolvers are seen in hands of several mobsters. In the final scene the crime boss Charlie Marshall (Martin Gabel) takes a Colt DS from his enforcer Pottsy (Raymond Burr). Police Inspector Carney (Howard Da Silva) carries a snub nose revolver that also seems to be a Colt DS.

Submachine Guns

Thompson Submachine Gun

In the final scene a police officer holds a Thompson Submachine Gun at the background. The submachine gun has a vertical foregrip, so M1921 or M1928 are best guesses.
