Russian M1917 Chemical hand grenade

The Russian Army adopted the Model 1917 Chemical Hand Grenade in 1917. It was designed by Vladimir Rdultovsky, who also designed the RG-14 hand grenade. M1917 grenades were filled mostly with Chloropicrin (PS), a toxic tear/nausea gas capable of penetrating standard gas masks. They were used in WWI and in the Russian Civil war. The last manual for this grenade appeared in 1927, and there is no accurate information as to when the M1917 was withdrawn from service.
