Although Galbadon was a Mexican-American in real life, he was portrayed by actor Jeffrey Hunter in the movie. The film also starred David Janssen , Vic Damone, John Larch , and Sessue Hayakawa. A neglected youth, raised by a Japanese-American family in Los Angeles, becomes a decorated Marine in World War II by using his fluency in the Japanese language.
