Galil ACE
The Galil ACE is the latest development of the Galil design, replacing steel components with lighter composite parts and adding five accessory rails for customization. The Galil ACE is manufactured by IWI, and was also produced under license by Indumil of Colombia, FAMAE of Chile, RPC Fort of Ukraine, and Factory Z111 of Vietnam, who produce the ACE 31 and 32 as replacements for the AK-47/AKM rifles in Vietnamese service.
A simplified version of the Galil ACE with AK-style safety lever, known as the STV, was adopted by Vietnam in 2020.
The Galil ACE is mainly available in three different calibers: 5.56x45mm (ACE 21, ACE 22, ACE 23, ACE N), 7.62x39mm (ACE 31, ACE 32), and 7.62x51mm (ACE 52, ACE 52 L, ACE 53). The ACE N has a full-length picatinny rail on top and a redesigned magazine well to accept STANAG magazines. Civilian limited-edition Galil ACE variants chambered in 5.45x39mm were introduced in 2020.
The military versions have the following barrel lengths:
- 8.5" (ACE 21, ACE N 21, ACE 31)
- 13" (ACE 22, ACE N 22)
- 16" (ACE 32, ACE 52, ACE N 52)
- 18" (ACE 23)
- 20" (ACE 53)
Civilian versions:
- 8.3" (5.56x45mm, 7.62x39mm and 5.45x39mm carbines)
- 11.8" (7.62x51mm carbine)
- 13" (5.56x45mm, 7.62x39mm and 5.45x39mm carbines)
- 16" (5.56x45mm, 7.62x39mm and 5.45x39mm rifles)
- 16.5" (7.62x51mm rifle)
