Front is a 2014 Russian war drama TV series. During the WW2 Soviet intelligence service retrieves information about Nazi Germany nuclear weapons program. The plans include an abduction of some person who is involved in the works of Auerge corporation. Agent Vladimir Volnov alias Vlad Volnyi (Pavel Yuzhakov-Kharlanchuk) meets Katarzyna Stuhr (Magdalena Górska), a Polish physicist who has to participate in the research but wants to escape to safety.

The following weapons were used in the television series Front:

Revolvers

Nagant M1895

Nagant M1895 revolvers are seen in several scenes, notably used by Vladimir Volnov alias Vlad Volnyi (Pavel Yuzhakov-Kharlanchuk) and Katarzyna Stuhr (Magdalena Górska). Probably two props are used throughout the series, and judging by the flashes from muzzles and cylinders, both revolvers are blank-firing versions. One of these guns can be identified as "Blef", while another revolver lacks any visual markings that allow to identify the exact version. This gun has a pre-1930 rounded front sight.

Col. Khlopko's driver, a Lieutenant of State Security (Aleksey Telesh) aims a Nagant. This revolver is a "Blef", and the TOZ stamp on the body matches 1921-1925 years of production. So originally this Nagant must have had a rounded front sight that was probably replaced with a post-1930 angular one during the conversion into blank-firing gun.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing
The same character's revolver switches to a Nagant with rounded front sight due to a continuity error.
Error creating thumbnail: File missing
The revolver again swtiches to the "Blef" and is seen firing.

A Nagant with rounded front sight is seen in hands of a Militsioner at the left. Another Militsioner seems to hold the "Blef" revolver.

Pistols

TT-33

TT-33 pistols are used by Vlad Volnyi (Pavel Yuzhakov-Kharlanchuk), Capt. of State Security Vasiliy Litvin (Roman Ageev) and other State Security and Red Army officers, and German agents Yushka (Pavel Kharizanov) and Shut ("Jester") (Mitya Labush). All pistols that are seen close are of pre-1947 version.

Luger P08 (replica)

Replicas of Luger P08 are seen in several scenes. Some of them can be identified as non-firing Denix replica, while one pistol, reused in several scenes, seems to be a gas-firing pistol (such "gas Lugers" were produced under Mauser, Erma and other brands). Unlike live Lugers (see above), these replicas "fire" with CGI effects.

Browning Hi-Power

In one scene Vlad takes the uniform and handgun from a killed Abwehr Lt. (Igor Golovin). The pistol is a Browning Hi-Power that was adopted in Nazi Germany as Pistole 640(b), but the actual screen gun is a post-war model.

Submachine Guns

PPSh-41

Soviet officers and soldiers, notably Capt. Vasiliy Litvin (Roman Ageev) and Aleksey Mishin (Mitya Labush), and Polish partisans widely use PPSh-41 submachine guns, mostly with drum magazines except for the PPSh of the commander of the Polish partisans group Voznyak (Aleksandr Stroev).

MP38

MP38 submachine guns are used by Vlad Volnyi (Pavel Yuzhakov-Kharlanchuk), Trokhin (Yuriy Itskov), one of his men (Sergey Sobolev), criminals Shchepa ("Splinter") (Artem Bordovsky) and Sych ("Owl") (Sergei Dyachkov), and some German soldiers. Probably two instances are used, one of the early version and another one of the late version that is sometimes referred as MP38/40.

MP40 (replica)

Most MP40s, used in the series, are non-firing Denix replicas. They are identified by silumin surface, visibly different from stamped blued steel of real guns, and by the shape and position of some details (one of the such features is the ejection port cover that looks recessed in comparison with real guns due to thicker silumin walls).
