Detroit is a 2017 historical drama/thriller directed by Kathryn Bigelow and written by Mark Boal, marking their third feature film collaboration, following Zero Dark Thirty and The Hurt Locker. Based on true events, the film depicts the racially-charged 1967 12th Street Riots in Detroit and the Algiers Motel incident in which three black men were killed and nine other civilians were badly beaten after Detroit Police officers, Michigan State Troopers and the Michigan National Guard raided the motel under the pretense of looking for gunmen. The film stars John Boyega, Will Poulter, Anthony Mackie and John Krasinski, and was released on August 4th, 2017.

The following weapons were used in the film Detroit (2017):

Handguns

Smith & Wesson Model 10

A Smith & Wesson Model 10 revolver with a nickel finish and five inch barrel is seen in the hands of Detroit Police patrolman Phillip Krauss (Will Poulter). The Detroit Police carried the Model 10 with 5 inch barrel and nickel finish for several decades so the movie is historically accurate. Melvin Dismukes (John Boyega) also appears to carry a Model 10 while working as a security guard.
