Charlie Chan in the Secret Service

Charlie Chan in the Secret Service is a 1944 mystery, the thirty-first Charlie Chan film, and the first produced by Monogram Pictures. With curtailed revenues due to World War II, 20th Century Fox, which had previously produced the Charlie Chan series, cut their "B-movies" series, including the Charlie Chan series. Star Sidney Toler purchased the rights and shopped them to Monogram, which specialized in low budget films. With the much lower budget and with "Number Two Son" Jimmy Chan actor Victor Sen Yung in the military, Benson Fong was introduced as "Number Three Son" Tommy Chan, with actress Marianne Quon as daughter Iris Chan. It should be noted that while Charlie Chan is portrayed by a Caucasian actor, his children are portrayed by Asian actors.

Luger P08 "Artillery" model
A long barreled Luger P08 "Artillery" model is seen twice in the film. Once when it is placed in the safe, and in a continuity error, becomes a Smith & Wesson M&P revolver, and again as a spring loaded gun used to kill one of the suspects.

A Smith & Wesson M&P revolver is seen twice as well. First in the aforementioned continuity error above, and as Charlie Chan's (Sidney Toler) service weapon. In yet another continuity error, his service weapon morphs into a Colt Official Police once it's on the wall.

Colt Detective Special
One of the killers uses a 1st gen Colt Detective Special to try to kill Chan.
