Between Sky and Earth (Mezhdu nebom i zemlyoy) is a Soviet Moldovan 1976 (filmed 1975) musical comedy directed by Mihail Badiceanu and Valeriy Kharchenko. A young Moldovan Simion Kuku (Vsevolod Abdulov) serves in Soviet Army airborne troops. Being a talented singer, Simion together with two his comrades participates in a musical trio. Their music director Sasha Karasik (Larisa Eryomina) is a charming young woman, and soon Simion fall in love to her.

In one scene Simion Kuku (Vsevolod Abdulov) is a background actor in a historical adventure movie. Simion and an another extra hold IZh-18 shotguns, sawed-off and mocked up as Percussion Cap Pistols (not fitting for 17th or 18th century when this film is set).

BMD-1 airborne armoured fighting vehicle is seen during the night training. It is armed with 73mm 2A28 "Grom" main gun and three PKT machine guns (coaxial and two frontal). What appear to be a BRDM-2 armoured reconnaissance car is seen at the background.
