The Bendix-Hyde Light Rifle was a prototype self-loading carbine designed by George Hyde and produced by the Bendix Aviation Corporation. It was developed for the US Light Rifle Program during World War 2, a program which would eventually result in the adoption of the M1 Carbine. There were two distinct variants of the Bendix-Hyde: the select-fire 1st model, and the semi-auto-only 2nd model.
