Alex the Fierce (Alex Lyutyj) is a Russian 2020 war and detective TV series. In 1975 a writer Fyodor Kononenko works on a book about "Alex Lyutyj" (Alex the Fierce), the Nazi collaborator who carried out mass executions of Soviet civilians during the WWII. Then Kononenko is found murdered. Right before his death, he told his friend Gen. Somov, the head of the special department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the search for war criminals, that Lyutyj, who was considered dead since 1944, is alive and lives under some false name. Somov orders the investigator of his department Colonel Yegor Sukharev to work on the case.

The plot is based on the real case of Aleksandr Yukhnovskiy.

The following weapons were used in the film Alex the Fierce (Alex Lyutyj):

Pistols

Makarov PM

Makarov PM pistols are service sidearms of Soviet Militsiya personnel. Due to continuity errors, genuine PMs often switch to blank-firing MP-371 and airsoft MP-654K versions (see below).

Makarov PM (MP-371 / MP-654K)

Some PM pistols that are seen in hands of Militsiya personnel turn out to be blank-firing MP-371 and airsoft MP-654K. They are identified on the close-ups by the shape of the tripper guard, the difference of the finish between the frame and the slide, and the markings on the slides.

In the wartime scenes, Aleksandr Lekhnovskiy alias Alex Lyutyj (Vladislav Konoplyov) is awarded with a Luger P08. P08 pistols are also seen in hands of GFP (Geheime Feldpolizei, "Secret Field Police") serviceman Hans (Vitaliy Shchannikov) and Hilfspolizei Vavilov (Evgehniy Nevar). In 1975, a Luger is commonly used by Sergey Mikhaylovich Vernigor (Dmitriy Mulyar). Unlike the P08s in wartime scenes, this particular pistol is fitted with the decorative brown grips with Nazi eagle emblem (Reichsadler).
