Alex the Fierce Alex Lyutyj ) is a Russian 2020 war and detective TV series. In 1975 a writer Fyodor Kononenko works on a book about "Alex Lyutyj" (Alex the Fierce), the Nazi collaborator who carried out mass executions of Soviet civilians during the WWII. Then Kononenko is found murdered. Right before his death, he told his friend Gen. Somov, the head of the special department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the search for war criminals, that Lyutyj, who was considered dead since 1944, is alive and lives under some false name. Somov orders the investigator of his department Colonel Yegor Sukharev to work on the case.
The plot is based on the real case of Aleksandr Yukhnovskiy.
