Above the Law is the 1988 action movie that launched Steven Seagal's movie career. In the film, Seagal stars as Nico Toscani, a Chicago cop with a CIA past and family in the Mafia who investigates the assassination of a local priest that may be part of a government conspiracy. The film (which was also released under the title Nico) was directed by Andrew Davis, who would also direct Seagal in Under Siege.

Colt Government

Chicago Police Department Detective Nico Toscani (Steven Seagal) carries a Colt Government Model (Commercial M1911A1) as his main sidearm in the film. Steven Seagal owns and uses in real life several 1911s.

Colt Commander MK IV

After he returns home to get his wife and child out of the house, Toscani retrieves a bag containing several weapons, including a Colt Commander Mk IV. During the shootout in the meatpacking district, his Government changes several times to a Commander.
