A War Within is a 2018 drama movie directed by Kasper Torsting. For three years, the Danish-minded soldier Esben was at the front under German command, experienced the nightmare firsthand, and was declared a hero there. But that's over now: a well-meaning doctor sends him back home to his family in 1917. The hope of a normal life with his wife Kirstine and son Karl is soon dashed, as the German officer, Gerhard is now in charge, and not just militarily. For Esben, it is clear that he must fight for the love of his family, which he threatens to lose to his rival.

At first, the film was titled In Love and War but then it was changed for worldwide release.
