The Pacing Mustang (Mustang-inokhodets) is a Soviet 1976 (filmed 1975) adventure family movie, directed by Igor Negrescu and based on the story by Ernest Thompson Seton. A black pacing mustang lives in prairies of New Mexico. It is highly prized, and local men relentlessly hunt for the horse. But when at last they manage to capture the mustang, it prefers death to captivity.
The following weapons were used in the film The Pacing Mustang (Mustang-inokhodets):
Revolvers
Nagant M1895
All main characters of the movie - Wild Jo Calone (Mikhail Golubovich), Thomas "Turkeytrack" Bates (Aleksey Chernov), James Foster (Stasis Petronaitis), Fred Montgomery (Pavel Klyonov) and Charley (Georgi Dvornikov) - carry Nagant M1895 revolvers.
Rast-Gasser M1898
In one scene Thom "Turkeytrack"'s (Aleksey Chernov) Nagant switches to a Rast-Gasser M1898. This revolver is also seen in hands of Wild Jo (Mikhail Golubovich).
Unidentified revolvers
In several scenes Charley (Georgi Dvornikov), James Foster (Stasis Petronaitis) and Wild Jo (Mikhail Golubovich) carry unidentified revolvers in holsters. It appears to be a single prop that is reused in several scenes. The revolver has a Colt SAA style grips but is more like not a genuine SAA but a visually modified revolver (possibly a Nagant).
Fred Montgomery (Pavel Klyonov) carries a revolver in holster. Its grip resembles top-break models of Smith & Wesson but the exact model cannot be identified.
Rifles
Winchester Model 1895
Wild Jo (Mikhail Golubovich) and James Foster (Stasis Petronaitis) use Winchester Model 1895 rifles.
Mannlicher M1895 Sporter
During the hunt for the mustang Fred Montgomery (Pavel Klyonov) uses a sporterized Mannlicher M1895 rifle.
Mauser 98 Sporter
During the hunt for the mustang James Foster (Stasis Petronaitis) uses a Mauser 98 Sporter. Later his rifle is used by Thom "Turkeytrack" (Aleksey Chernov), and then by Wild Jo (Mikhail Golubovich).
Shotguns
Double Barreled Shotgun
One of Montgomery's men carries a Double Barreled Shotgun.
