Operation Trust (Operatsiya "Trest") is a Soviet 1967 adventure 4-part mini series directed by Sergey Kolosov. The story, based on real events, depicts the counterintelligence Operation "Trust", implemented by the Soviet OGPU in 1921-26 against the anti-Soviet organisation under the leadership of general Aleksandr Kutepov. The ultimate success of the operation was the arrest of British secret agent Sidney George Reilly who was lured in Soviet Russia.
The following weapons were used in the film Operation Trust (Operatsiya "Trest"):
Mauser C96 M1930 pistols are widely used by OGPU personnel, including Artur Artuzov (Armen Dzhigarkhanyan), and by numerous conspirators, notably Rotmistr (Capt.) Maria Zakharchenko (Lyudmila Kasatkina), Staff Capt. Eduard Staunitz (Donatas Banionis), Col. Zhukovskiy (Viktor Shulgin), and Poruchik (Lt.) Voznesenskiy (Anatoly Katsynsky). These C96s have stepped barrels and belong to M1930 model that is out of time for 1920s.
Vladimir Styrne (Aleksey Safonov) uses the FN Model 1922 during the arrest of Birk (Bruno O'Ya). In the scene on a villa near Moscow Eduard Staunitz (Donatas Banionis) holds the FN 1922 instead of previously seen FN 1910.
Astra 300
Maria Zakharchenko (Lyudmila Kasatkina) uses the Astra 300 pistol during the robbery of State Bank in Moscow. Aleksandr Yakushev (Igor Gorbachyov) carries two Astra pistols that are gifts to him and Gen. Potapov from Second Department of Polish General Staff (intelligence and counterintelligence service). Later, in the scene in Paris, Gen. Kutepov (Grigoriy Gai) holds Yakushev's pistol.
Femaru 37M
When Eduard Staunitz (Donatas Banionis) retreats from Moscow, he readies anachronisic Femaru 37M pistol.
One scene of the movie depicts the spiritual connection of 1920s and 1960s by showing Red Guards and Red Army soldiers in 1960s Moscow. The soldiers carry Mosin Nagant M1891/30 rifles.
Footage
Mauser Rifles
In the documentary footage of the funeral in Warsaw in June 1927 Polish soldiers march with Mauser rifles with attached bayonets. These rifles are most likely Karabinek Wz. 1898 (Polish version of Mauser 98AZ), as it was main Polish service rifle before Wz.29 was adopted.
