Restless Youth (Trevozhnaya molodost) is a Soviet 1955 (filmed 1954) B&W historical drama movie directed by Aleksandr Alov and Vladimir Naumov and based on the trilogy of novels "Staraya krepost" ("The Old Fortress") by Vladimir Belyaev. The movie depicts the fate of several kids, then young men and women who live in the town of Kamenets-Podolskyi in Western Ukraine during and after the Russian Civil war.
This movie is the second screen adaptation of Belyaev's novels, preceded by 1938 movie and followed by 1973 TV series (both entitled "Staraya krepost", like the trilogy).
During the scene of the Civil war a Nagant M1895 revolver is seen in hands of a Haidamak (a soldier of Ukrainian National Army). Chekist Nikita Kolomeyets (Grigoriy Gai) holds a Nagant in the scene, set a decade later.
A Smith & Wesson Victory Model revolver (standing for original M&P) is used by Ukrainian Sotnik (Capt.) Zenon Pecheritsa (Yuri Lavrov). This gun is supposedly the same prop that appeared in several other productions of Dovzhenko (Kiev) Film Studios in following decades.
A Glisenti M1874 revolver is seen in several scenes throughout the movie. Initially it is seen during the events of Civil war when Nikita Kolomeyets (Grigoriy Gai) gives the revolver to wounded Commissar Timofey Sergushin (Nikolay Kryuchkov). Then the Glisenti is stolen by a boy Kot'ka Grigorenko (Orest Kirst). A decade later Grigorenko (Nikolai Rybnikov) uses the revolver when he illegally crosses Soviet border. After his arrest the revolver returns to Kolomeyets who identifies his old gun. In the movie the revolver is called "Wobley-Scott" (an incorrect pronunciation of "Webley & Scott"). This prop is most likely the same that is seen in several other Dovzhenko (Kiev) Film Studios productions, like Zigmund Kolosovskiy and Zelyonyy Furgon.
A Colt Single Action Army revolver with pearl/ivory grips is seen in hands of a Haidamak. Note: see talk page for additional materials that help the proper identification.
Top break revolvers that are possibly a Smith & Wesson New Model No.3 or one of its European clones are seen in several scenes (probably it is the same prop reused).
An Ukrainian Sotnik (Aleksandr Khvylya) carries a Mauser C96 in holster. The outlook of the grip allows to make a guess that this is a mere wooden mockup.
Mosin Nagant M1891 rifles are used by Nikita Kolomeyets (Grigoriy Gai) and by Haidamaks during the events of the Civil war, and by Soviet border guards and Komsomol volunteers, notably Vasiliy Mandzhura (Aleksandr Susnin) and Petro Maremukha (Mikhail Kramar).
Some Red soldiers carry Mauser rifles. These rifles are of carbine length and have straight bolt handles. Polish Karabinek wz. 1929 seems to be a decent guess for some of them.
