Alex the Fierce (Alex Lyutyj) is a Russian 2020 war and detective TV series. In 1975 a writer Fyodor Kononenko works on a book about "Alex Lyutyj" (Alex the Fierce), the Nazi collaborator who carried out mass executions of Soviet civilians during the WWII. Then Kononenko is found murdered. Right before his death, he told his friend Gen. Somov, the head of the special department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the search for war criminals, that Lyutyj, who was considered dead since 1944, is alive and lives under some false name. Somov orders the investigator of his department Colonel Yegor Sukharev to work on the case.
The plot is based on the real case of Aleksandr Yukhnovskiy.
Makarov PM pistols are service sidearms of Soviet Militsiya personnel. Due to continuity errors, genuine PMs often switch to blank-firing MP-371 version (see below).
Makarov PM (MP-371)
Blank-firing MP-371 pistols are also seen in hands of Militsiya personnel. They are identified on the close-ups by the shape of the tripper guard.
Tokarev TT-33
In the wartime scenes, Lekhnovskiy Sr. (Denis Bespalyy) carries a TT-33 pistol. In one scene Alex (Vladislav Konoplyov) takes the pistol from his drunk father.
Luger P08
In the wartime scenes, Aleksandr Lekhnovskiy alias Alex Lyutyj (Vladislav Konoplyov) is awarded with a Luger P08. P08 pistols are also seen in hands of GFP (Geheime Feldpolizei, "Secret Field Police") serviceman Hans (Vitaliy Shchannikov) and Hilfspolizei Vavilov (Evgehniy Nevar). In 1975, a Luger is commonly used by Sergey Mikhaylovich Vernigor (Dmitriy Mulyar). Unlike the P08s in wartime scenes, this particular pistol is fitted with the decorative brown grips with Nazi eagle emblem (Reichsadler).
Luger P08 (Gletcher Parabellum)
A Gletcher CO2 replica of Luger P08 is seen twice, in the wartime scene when the head of GFP-721 Otto Körner (Dirk Martens) awards Alex with the pistol, and in 1975 in hands of Sergey Vernigor (Dmitriy Mulyar).
Walther P38
Hans (Vitaliy Shchannikov) holds a Walther P38 in several scenes. His pistol looks somewhat different from a real gun and may be a Denix non-firing replica or some airsoft gun.
Walther Model 4
Usachyov (Vitaliy Krylov), a dealer in forged documents, holds a Walther Model 4 during his conflict with Vernigor.
Submachine Guns
PPSh-41
Several Soviet partisans are armed with PPSh-41 submachine guns.
MP38
Alex Lyutyj (Vladislav Konoplyov), Hans (Vitaliy Shchannikov) and several other German soldiers carry MP38 submachine guns.
Both partisans and Hilfspolizei carry Mosin Nagant M1891 Dragoon rifles. A M91 Dragoon rifle is also seen in hands of a Red Army Pvt. Sergey Mikhalchuk (uncredited) whose documents Aleksandr Lekhnovskiy used to hide his real personality.
Short Mauser rifles, seen in several scenes, turn out to be Czech Mauser vz. 16/33 Carbines, adopted for Wehrmacht service as Gewehr 33/40 (t).
Unidentified Mauser Rifle (Denix 98K Carabine?)
When Alex escorts Asya Stepnova, his rifle is briefly seen on the ground. In this scene the previously seen Gewehr 33/40 switches to another model of Mauser rifle that has different shape of the bolt handle. The color of the stock and metal parts allow to make a guess that this is a Denix replica but this isn't for sure.
