The Fan (1996)

The Fan is a 1996 thriller directed by Tony Scott and stars Wesley Snipes as Bobby Rayburn, a Major League Baseball player who finds himself the target of Gil "Curly" Renard (Robert De Niro), an obsessed fan who is determined to gain Bobby's acceptance at all costs. The film was an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Peter Abrahams.
