The Sadness (Mandarin title: 哭悲, Kū bēi) is a Taiwanese horror film directed by Canadian filmmaker Rob Jabbaz, in his feature directorial debut. The film stars Berant Zhu and Regina Lei as Jim and Kat, a couple in Taipei that finds themselves separated in the middle of an outbreak of the "Alvin" virus, a fast-spreading pathogen that turns those infected with it into extremely sadomasochistic and uninhibited psychopaths. The film follows their attempt to reconnect with each other in the middle of the virus' rapid spread, as well as their encounters with the sadistic and perverted infected. First released in its native Taiwan and to multiple international film festivals in 2021 with wide releases following in 2022, The Sadness would receive positive critical feedback for its depraved, yet unique take on the zombie genre, with its almost all-practical blood and gore effects also gaining widespread recognition.

The following weapons were used in the film The Sadness:

Glock 17

Glock 17s are used by multiple police officers. Dr. Alan Wong (Wei-Hua Lan) also uses a Glock 17, which is apparently 3D-printed in its entirety. This is unrealistic for a couple of reasons: first, the pistol would not be strong enough to bear the pressure of the amount of rounds he fires, and would likely not function at all, and secondly, the gun itself appears to be a completely normal 2nd Generation Glock, though it changes into a 3rd Gen in a continuity error.

Despite stating that he has former military service, he demonstrates extremely unsafe gun handling, including waving it around carelessly and pointing it at his own head. The markings on the slide are different from usual, indicating it is probably a replica.

An infected police officer fires his Glock at Jim, hitting a rear-view mirror on his motorcycle. This is the only other 3rd Gen Glock featured in the film.

In a continuity error, Wong's Glock changes into a 3rd Generation model for this close-up where it explodes on its 4th shot; in reality, a fully 3D-printed Glock would've likely exploded long before this point.

Mk 2 Hand Grenade

A Mk 2 hand grenade is used by an infected general (Chang-Han Liou) to kill the president of Taiwan (An-Long Cai) in a live broadcasted speech.
