The SIG GL 5040 is an underbarrel grenade launcher designed to be mounted to the SIG SG 550. There are four additional variants of the GL 5040: the SIG GL 5140 which mounts to the SIG SG 551, the SIG GL 5340 which mounts to the SIG SG 553 (and its predecessor the SIG SG 552), the SIG GL 5640 which mounts to the SIG-Sauer SIG556 or any other suitable picatinny rail, and lastly the SIG GLG 40 which is standalone variant using SG 550 style furniture.
