The Osterman Weekend was the 1983 feature film adaptation of the novel written by Robert Ludlum and marked the final feature to be directed by Sam Peckinpah. The film follows John Tanner (Rutger Hauer), a journalist who is recruited by the CIA to gather a group of individuals who may be part of a secret KGB spy network in an attempt to get them to defect to the west. The cast included John Hurt, Dennis Hopper, Chris Sarandon, and Meg Foster.
