Hokkaido Police. Russian Department (Russian Title:Полиция Хоккайдо. Русский отдел; Politsiya Khokkaydo. Russkiy otdel) is a Russian-Japanese-Kazakh television series, directed by Vsevolod Shilovskiy. This TV tells about adventures Police Major Takuya Minamoto (Yerik Zholzhaksynov), his Russian friend Ganin (Sergey Stepanchenko) who works in Japanese police as translator and Russian militiawoman (policewoman in Russia) Aleksandra Shevchuk (Larisa Ponomarenko), who was secondment to Hokkaido for help Japanese police to fight with Russian criminals, that has affiliates on Hokkaido island. Like many Soviet and Russian media, major Japanese characters were played by ethnic Kazakhs, but several second plan characters were played by little known Japanese actors. This TV series is loosely based on the novels of Japanese writer of Russian origin Eduard Vlasov, also known as Kunio Kaminashi (or Kaminasi). Unlike a lot of Russian movies and TV series, it was filmed in Hokkaido Island, Japan.

PS In real life, Russian Department has never exist in Hokkaido police, due uncirculated of the Russian criminals in Japan.

A Yakuza boss Kawariga (Vladimir Shiryaev (II)) briefly holds Glock 17 at the "Made in Japan. Part 2" (Ep. 04). Police Major Takuya Minamoto (Yerik Zholzhaksynov) disarms him and fires captured pistol one time.

Russian criminal Sergey Ivanov (Vladimir Litvinov) briefly uses Beretta 92F/FS pistol at the "Money down the drain. Patr 1" (Ep. 07). It was wrongly credited as Makarov PM. Shintaro Hayashi (Farkhad Abdraimov) owns Beretta 92F/FS at the "Money down the drain. Patr 1" (Ep. 07). It was wrongly credited as 5.25mm. calibr pistol. Only a single pistol is seen at a time so it's most likely that a single movie prop was used.

Jericho 941

For the majority of the series, Police Major Takuya Minamoto (Yerik Zholzhaksynov) was not seen carrying a firearm while on duty. However, in the "Money down the drain. Patr 2" (Ep. 08) what appears to be Jericho 941 is seen in the hands of the detective.

Japanese Police carries an unknown handguns into Makarov PM holsters. Sidearm of the Japanese police is the Nambu Model 60, but it's hardly appers in Russian TV series.
