The Great War (Original title: La grande guerra) is a 1959 Italian war drama film set during WWI. Directed Mario Monicelli, starring Alberto Sordi and Vittorio Gassman. This film won the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and received an Academy Award nominee as Best Foreign Film.
