Believed Violent (original title Présumé dangereux) is a 1990 French crime movie directed by Georges Lautner and loosely based on the novel "Believed Violent" by James Hadley Chase. It is the fourth and the last in a series of French screen adaptations of the works of J.H. Chase, preceded by Try This One for Size (1989), Have a Nice Night and Want to Stay Alive (both 1990). The series is united by the person of the insurance investigator Tom Lepski (Michael Brandon) (in the original novels Tom Lepski is a police detective in Paradise City, Florida). In Believed Violent Lepski is involved in the affair of a genius scientist Prof. Forrester who goes insane and kills his wife's lover. Ruthless business magnat Radnitz wants to have Forrester's invention for himself, and the professor is the only man who knows the key to it.

Manurhin MR-73
Police detectives and officers, including Inspector Jacobi (Stéphane Bonnet), carry revolvers that appear to be Manurhin MR-73. In the final scene Tom Lepski (Michael Brandon) takes a revolver from wounded Jacobi and uses it.
Bruni Olympic 6
In the final scene Thea Forrester (Marie Laforêt) holds a Bruni Olympic 6 blank-firing revolver.
Unidentified revolver 1
In the final scene Tom Lepski (Michael Brandon) draws a revolver but immediately loses it as the gun is knocked out of his hand by Keegan's shot. The revolver is seen only in distance.
Unidentified revolver 2
In the final scene Comissioneer Durieux (Francis Perrin) fires a nickel plated (or stainless steel) revolver. It appears to be a 5-shot, had an S&W style cylinder release but the caliber of the barrel seems to be much larger that caliber of cambers in the cylinder, so the revolver is most likely some blank firer.
Unidentified revolver 3
In the final minutes of the movie Herman Radnitz (Mario Adorf) personally fires a revolver. It is a stainless steel or nickel plated snub nose revolver with shrouded ejector rod and target sights.
Pistols
M1911A1
One-eyed assassin Silk (Daniel Ubaud) and Radnitz's assistant Lindsay (André Oumansky) use M1911A1 pistols in several scenes.
Llama IX-A
Silk's partner Keegan (Jean-Marie Lemaire) carries a Llama IX-A. The shape of the slide, including slanted serrations, best matches 2nd series.

In the final scene one of the police snipers is armed with a MAS-49/56 that can be identified due to the position of the front sight in the middle of the barrel.
