The West Wing (1999-2006)

The West Wing is a US television drama that mainly focuses on the senior White House staff of a fictional US Presidential adminstration. The drama was created by Aaron Sorkin, who had previously written the screenplays for such films as A Few Good Men and The American President. The cast included Rob Lowe, Bradley Whitford, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, John Spencer, and Martin Sheen as President Jed Bartlet. The series premiered in the US on NBC in September of 1999 and aired for 7 seasons until 2006. The West Wing garnered several accolades, including four consecutive Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Drama Series.

SIG-Sauer P228

In "Mr. Willis of Ohio" (S1E06), SIG-Sauer P228 are seen drawn by Secret Service agents after Zoey Bartlet's panic button is activated in a bar. The SIG-Sauer pistol also is fired by a Secret Service Agent in the Season 1 finale "What Kind of Day Has It Been" (S1E22). In Season 2's episode "In the Shadow of Two Gunmen, Part II" (S2E02), White House Communications Director C.J. Cregg (Allison Janney) mentions that the pistol that the Secret Service carries is a ".357 SIG-Sauer" (only the P229 is chambered for .357), but the weapon seen in the finale appeared to be the 9mm P228.

SIG-Sauer P226

US Secret Service Agent Simon Donovan (Mark Harmon) pulls his SIG-Sauer P226 in Season 3's finale "Posse Comitatus" (S3E21). In reality, the P228 was the issued sidearm around the time of the episode's airing and the Service was in the process of switching over to the P229. USSS Agent Wesley Davis (Taye Diggs) draws his SIG-Sauer pistol in Season 4's "Commencement" (S4E22), but the pistol changes to a Glock later in the episode.

Smith & Wesson Model 686

In Season 3's "We Killed Yamamoto" (S3E20), US Secret Service Agent Simon Donovan (Mark Harmon) is seen firing a .357 Smith & Wesson Model 686 on the range. When Donovan mentions that it's a .357 Magnum, C.J. Cregg (Allison Janney) mentions that "it's a good brand". She also gets to shoot the revolver, but the recoil puts her on the ground.

What appears to be a Glock 34 is held by Secret Service Agent Wesley Davis (Taye Diggs) after he exits the club in Season 4's "Commencement" (S4E22). This is a continuity error as he appeared to carry a SIG-Sauer earlier. The Glock is also not the usual firearm issued by the Secret Service.
