The Event was a television series that ran for a single season on NBC. The main plot of the show concerned a race of aliens (referred to as "Sleepers") who had arrived on Earth in the 1940s, and their (possibly illegal) detention by the U.S. government at a top-secret prison in Alaska. The events of the show were told from three perspectives: The administration of newly-elected American President Elias Martinez (Blair Underwood, an obvious stand-in for Barack Obama), the Sleepers and their leader Sophia (Laura Innes), and Sean Walker (Jason Ritter), a young man who becomes involved in the conspiracy after his girlfriend is kidnapped. Although the show had an interesting premise (essentially a science-fiction metaphor for the U.S. War on Terror) and received generous funding from NBC, it had poor ratings during its run and was cancelled after the end of its first season.

The Event was an American science fiction action series that aired for 22 episodes in the US on NBC from 2010 to 2011. The premise of the show concerned a race of aliens (referred to as "Sleepers") who had arrived on Earth in the 1940s, and their (possibly illegal) detention by the U.S. government at a top-secret prison in Alaska. The events of the show were told from three perspectives: The administration of newly-elected US President Elias Martinez (Blair Underwood, as a thinly-veiled stand-in for then-U.S. President Barack Obama), the Sleepers and their leader Sophia (Laura Innes), and Sean Walker (Jason Ritter), a young man who becomes involved in the conspiracy after his girlfriend is kidnapped. Despite the interesting premise (essentially a science-fiction metaphor for the U.S. War on Terror) and generous support from NBC, the series encountered poor ratings during its run and was cancelled after the end of its first season.

The following weapons were used in the television series The Event:

Pistols

SIG-Sauer P226

The SIG-Sauer P226 is one of the most common weapons on the show, appearing for the first time in the pilot episode, "I Haven't Told You Everything" (S1E01) in the hands of Air Marshal Dan Taylor (Gonzalo Menendez). It is subsequently used by many other characters on the show, including government agents, mercenaries, and sleepers. Thomas (Clifton Collins, Jr.) uses a P226 in "Inostranka" (S1E12), and Sean Walker (Jason Ritter) uses one in "One Will Live, One Will Die" (S1E20).
