==Harpoon Gun==
In the film's climax, a harpoon gun is retrofitted to fire a large projectile attached via cable to an electrical generator. It is manned by the Mexican Army's Major Ortega, until he forgets it's electrified and grabs the projectile with his bare hands. One thoroughly fried Mexican major later and it's up to Scott to slay the giant scorpion.

M1911

When Hank Scott (Richard Denning) and Artur Ramos (Carlos Rivas) find the dead policeman, Sergeant Vega, Vega is still clutching an M1911 pistol. Amusingly, later dialog calls the clearly automatic handgun "Vega's revolver."
