Some notes and a reference for the M16s

The buttstocks are not quite M4 stocks, but something weird. They have (very 21st century) sling sockets, but also long toes sticking down and curving back. Not visible easily but it's there. Trigger guards are removed, which makes sense for gloved hand use. They also are not painted white, but are either painted metallic, or plated. I'd assume they were supposed to be read as plated (NP3 was developed for the space program, for example) but are probably just painted for cost :) Some is discussed in this thread: https://www.therpf.com/forums/threads/m-16s-on-the-moon-help-id-this-for-all-mankind-weapon-pics.333339/ where someone involved in the production contributes some details.
