Screenshots

I will get actual in-game screenshots eventually, but apparently my graphics card is not strong enough to support the game's highest quality graphics, which is odd, as they are good enough as it is...Run its a T-55 18:21, 16 August 2009 (UTC)

The following firearms can be seen on the various units in the strategy game Empires: Dawn of the Modern World (2003):
Note: Although this is a strategy game, the goal was to be as historically accurate as possible. Most units are seen wielding firearms that can be clearly recognized, and some units are based on a firearm, i.e. the MG42 Team.

Empires: Dawn of the Modern World (2003)

United States

Vickers Machine Gun

The American heavy infantry unit for both World War I and World War II is the Vickers MG Team, obviously equipped with a British-made Vickers Machine Gun.

M1928/M1928A1 Thompson

The American Army Ranger, a special unit for World War II, is equipped with an M1928/M1928A1 Thompson

M1917 Enfield

The American World War I-era Doughboy is seen holding a M1917 Enfield.

Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I

For some odd reason, the American World War II-era G.I. infantryman is holding a Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I.

M1911

In the Patton Campaign, Colonel Waters is seen holding an M1911.

United Kingdom

M1A1 Thompson

The British SAS Operative, a special unit for World War II, is equipped with an M1A1 Thompson. As the game strives for historical accuracy, this is possible in real life because of the Lend-Lease program.

Lee-Enfield No. 1 Mk III*

The British Tommy infantry unit used in both World Wars is seen with a rifle representing an SMLE. The American World War I Doughboy is based on the same model as the Tommy, and thus "carries" the same weapon.

Brown Bess Flintlock Musket

The Brown Bess is the firearm seen in the hands of the Imperial-era "Regular" infantry unit.

Russia

Mosin Nagant Rifle

The Mosin-Nagant is the rifle that the Sniper, a Russian special unit for World War I and World War II, uses.

Note: Although the game is very historically accurate, the unit model is a female; female snipers would not have been used in World War I.

SVT-40

The Conscript (the standard infantry unit) is seen with a rifle resembling an SVT-40. They should, however, be using the Mosin-Nagant, as the SVT-40 was deemed incapable of being mass-produced on the scale needed for the massive Soviet Army. Also, the rifle is seen in the hands of the Conscript in both World War I and World War II. This can be attributed to the fact the developers most likely only wanted to created one unit model.

It should be noted that the World War I infantry unit, the Poilu, uses the same unit model, albeit in different colors.

Tokarev TT-33 Pistol

The Commissar, a special unit for the Russians, uses a Tokarev TT-33 Pistol. As with the Conscript, it is both used in World War I and World War II. Commissars, who were political officers with military training, were not a part of the Imperial Russian Army in World War I, and the Tokarev was not even in existence during that war.

Maxim M1910

Although not clearly seen, it can be assumed that a Russian Maxim M1910 is the armament of the Armored Car, as the barrel represents the water jacket of a Maxim gun. However, it fires as if it was a cannon.

PPSh-41

A special unit, the Russian Commando, seen only in the Patton Campaign, uses a PPSh-41.

Germany

MG42

The German MG42 team, a heavy infantry unit for World War II, coincidentally uses an MG42. The unit model consists of a gunner resting the gun on an assistant gunner's shoulder.

MP40

The Neuer Soldat (German for "New Soldier"), the standard infantry unit for World War II, is seen with an MP40.

France

Lebel 1886

The Grenadier, a French heavy infantry unit for World War I and World War II, is seen with a rifle resembling a Lebel. Historically, although mostly replaced by the MAS-36 and Berthier rifles in front-line service, the Lebel was retained for firing rifle grenades.

Lee-Enfield No. 4 Mk I

Flamethrower

The French Flamethrower heavy infantry unit is seen with a flamethrower of an unknown model.

R.S.C. Model 1917

As the Poilu unit model is the same as the Russian Conscript unit model, the World War I French infantry unit would also be using an SVT-40. However, it could be said that the rifle on the unit, in a way, represents the R.S.C. model 1917 semi-automatic rifle.

Browning M1919

A Browning M1919 Machine Gun can be seen on the "Freedom Fighter," a combat motorcycle. It apparently is a sawn-off Browning, as the barrel looks like it isn't even a foot long.
