Was watching some B-roll footage, noticed an odd setup at about 0:42. Winter Soldier/Bucky has a M249 Para with a 100-round Surefire casket mag. Thought it was interesting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g09iIQzFSAk --Mandolin (talk) 17:10, 12 April 2016 (EDT)

I'm curious if that actually appears to cycle properly in the movie or if it is CG. An M249 barely works with a normal 30 rounder let alone one of those. I can't really think of a reason why they would choose to do this in the first place as it looks frankly ridiculous. Only possible reasoning I can think of is if they always meant for the firing the be CG and this is a lot easier to hide with a magazine rather than a belt. --commando552 (talk) 19:09, 12 April 2016 (EDT)
IIRC the newer Magpul and Surefire mags work just fine in the SAW. Something about stronger springs or something.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6-zZmtFRBk --Mandolin (talk) 20:52, 12 April 2016 (EDT)
I believe that there are two different problems with the magazine feed on the Minimi. The first is that the rate of fire can be too fast for the magazine to keep up, but also there is the problem that the geometry of the top of the magazine and the feed lips don't quite work in the M249. PMAGs work relatively well as they can sort of dodge both of these, but not so sure about a Surefire 100 rounder. Firstly I imagine that the geometry at the top would be more like a USGI so you would still have the problem with the bolt shaving the feed lips and causing failures to feed. I also personally have doubts that the Surefire would be any better at keeping up, as any spring that was still compressible at 100 rounds would likely be relatively weak towards the end, and also a quaad stack is more likely to stutter a bit as the rounds are feeding through due to the complexity where it steps down to a double stack. I also imagine that the weight and length of the Surefire might create problems as the magazine would be jammed over severely to one side of the magazine well. Maybe it would work, I have not personally tried it, but having used a Minimi with normal 30 rounders this has rather tainted my opinion on the matter. --commando552 (talk) 05:05, 13 April 2016 (EDT)

BTS footage

This B-roll footage gives nice stable shots of what will probably be very frenetic action scenes in the movie. Easy to see the guns being used.

Gun IDs

Just saw this yesterday, and among other things I recall seeing what I assume is a German police officer wielding an AUG (not sure what variant; probably an A3 though I just got a look at the distinctive barrel shape) while Black Widow and T'Challa are talking following the bombing. Also, I personally dispute that Makarov being a Makarov; it looked to be a lot more like an APS: it seemed to have a much longer barrel than a PM should, unless it was surpressed. Just my thoughts. --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 16:47, 16 May 2016 (EDT)

Those would be Austrian police/military, as they were in Vienna, and I distinctly remember them being green AUG A1s. I can't remember the "Makarov" past it being of that style/family. Alex T Snow (talk) 19:44, 16 May 2016 (EDT)
We'll have to wait for a DVD/BluRay release it seems. Also, I remember Crossbones trying to engage Falcon with what looked like a Mk 19 in the opening chase. Can you confirm? --That's the Way It's Done (talk) 23:19, 26 May 2016 (EDT)
Yeah, that was an AUG, and Crossbones was using a MK.19, but he was shooting it at Cap.--Mandolin (talk) 10:17, 27 May 2016 (EDT)
