An SFPD officer is seen drawing a Colt Python during the opening standoff.
Winchester Model 70
A SWAT sniper is seen armed with a Winchester Model 70.
M16
An FBI agent is seen carrying an M16 during the opening standoff.
Remington 700
Another sniper is seen with a Remington 700.
Smith and Wesson Model 586
A Smith and Wesson Model 586 is carried by FBI Special Agent Warren Stantin (Sidney Poitier) in the film. (At the time, personally owned .357 and .38 spl revolvers were allowed for FBI agents under supervisor's permission, when this agency still used wheelguns.)
Winchester Model 1894
Jonathan Knox (Tom Berenger) is seen carrying a Winchester Model 1894 as he guides Stantin through the forest.
I believe this is actually a Marlin Model 336. Pay close attention to the fact that it has a side eject bolt.
