A investigative journalist Herbert (Maurice Biraud) visits the parisien slum in Champigny-sur-Marne, where reigns Rosamond du Bois de la Faisanderie (Annie Girardot) with her butler Max (André Pousse). Like all unwary visitors, he was taken prisoner and disappears in a machine for making of relics for the Cardinal Zeppelin (Michel Galabru).
