Ready Player One is the 2018 feature film adaptation of the Ernest Cline novel of the same name. Directed by Steven Spielberg, the film follows Wade Watts (Tye Sheridan), a young gamer living in the year 2045 who is intent on finding the secret Easter Egg hidden in a worldwide virtual reality environment known as the "Oasis". Both the novel and the film feature several pop culture references, particularly from films made in the 1980's and several iconic weapons from this era are featured.
