Morris Ankrum AKA Stephen Morris Nussbaum was a character actor who was familiar to many television viewers in the 1950s and early 1960s. He was very familiar strapping a Peacemaker in that he appeared on nearly every major Western series on Television, doing guest stints on Have Gun Will Travel, Wagon Train, Bat Masterson, Maverick, Gunsmoke, Rawhide, The Rifleman and Bonanza. He was better known to sci fi/horror fans for appearing in such 1950s classics like Ray Harryhausen's Earth vs. the Flying Saucers, Kronos, Beginning of the End (which was parodied on Mystery Science Theatre 3000), and The Giant Claw.
